Cal State Fullerton’s mobile application iFullerton offers a lot of value to students. There are sensors detecting cars leaving an area so the app can help students find parking by viewing the number of parking spaces available in real-time. This feature alone has 800,000 views in August. There is also a dashboard, classes, grades, campus map and email portal as well as a chatbot called iTuffy.
Their iBeacon feature lets professors allow their students to check-in to class by opening the app and shaking their phone. Almost 200 class sections have already implemented this. Of course, students need to have a smart device for this feature to work for everyone.
The app has about 20,000 downloads on iOS and Android. They are looking into launching new features, including broadcasts from sports games.
