For the Mondial de l’Automobile in Paris, the startup company Ivizone developed a contextual experience for Fiat Group. The Fiat, Jeep, and Alfa Romeo stands all had Estimote beacons. They were deployed on every car enabling specialised content to nearby visitors. Content included informative videos, images, specs, and sound about nearby cars. Users can then like the cars to see this info again later.
Fiat offered free WiFi at their stands so people could download the FCA Mondial app needed to enable the technology. They were also encouraged to activate Bluetooth. At the end of the show, Fiat had valuable info on their visitors thanks not only to the beacon technology but also the WiFi access points and app. About 400 people connected to WiFi daily of the 7,000 visitors. They are thinking about expanding the program to car dealerships.
