Thanks to beacons, visitors of Berlin’s zoo will soon no longer need to scan QR codes to get info on different animal enclosures. With 19,000 animals in 33 acres, it is easy to get lost. So in addition to the beacons offering information about what is nearby, the app also provides guided tours. They also have feeding times (with an alarm you can set for certain animals), and an interactive map you can use to search for animals to visit. As about 1/4 of the visitors are not from Germany, the app is offered in multiple languages.

They are not only adding more beacons to this zoo, but beacons could soon hit Berlin’s second zoo too.
